LOVELY BONES might be too heavy on the vfx

Wait? What? MARK WAHLBERG is in this? I honestly had no idea…

Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones feels like it has come out of nowhere, the poster(s) and trailers sort of trickling down the line recently.

There’s some talk about the visual effects (see: cgi) taking away from the story and characters of the film. I gotta admit I was fearful of that the first time I saw the trailer. It was all very ‘visual effects’ oohh-la-la… and didn’t feel like it had much crust.

Still, at least it isn’t a remake (albeit an adaptation of a book by Alice Sebold) and will be something worth looking at… It’s still a long way from that damn Lord of the Rings trilogy. I am thankful, I guess, there are not going to be three of these!
