IRON MAN 2 international teaser poster plays it even safer

Paramount Pictures and Marvel have followed up last week’s first teaser poster for Iron Man 2 with this international teaser poster.
At least this time they included the entire title and not just the cryptic ’2′ at the bottom of the sheet. But still, the poster keeps things predictably safe and doesn’t venture out of any comfort zones.
If you had asked any die-hard fan what they would include on a teaser poster for Iron Man 2 I’m not sure many would reply with “Have Tony Stark staring grumpily right at me– wearing the suit! And pop some blue clouds behind him!”
You can render them clouds pretty easily in Photoshop, I hear.
Here’s a look at the poster:
I still prefer the first teaser poster they released, featuring Iron Man back-to-back with War Machine (the first glimpse of him). Still, neither poster really packs a teaser-quality punch they could have. Hardly a waste, though– you’re going to see it anyway, right?

The original Iron Man was a kickass film which helped re-kickstart Robert Js career. Chuck him in a film with Ben stiller and Jack Black and a few other films between Iron Man 1 and 2 and his well on his way to becoming a big celebrity. Iron Man has now turned into a money making franchise and Mr RJD sells the films…
What else would you expect…
Regardless of how guaranteed a film is, I still like to see some creativity in the marketing– whether it needs it or not.
