Greenband trailer has much less KICK-ASS
Greenband trailer has much less KICK-ASS

There’s much to anticipate in the upcoming comic book superhero piss-take KICK-ASS. There’s also much to dread.
The red-band teaser featuring Hit-Girl (Chloe Moretz) was fantastically fun and full of juicy stuff like splattering blood and swear-words. It was even enough to make Nicholas Cage tolerable (something tells me he’s going to be a riot in this flick). However, the recently-released green-band trailer looks like it belongs in the commercial break of Saturday morning cartoons. So who will be the target for this film? I’d be guessing the 15-27 year-olds. No doubting why the red-band trailer is much more popular.
If you’ve got the time and the courage, I urge you to sit through the painful green-band trailer and then watch the red-band. Trust me — it’ll make the red-band seem so much cooler and likely elevate your expectations. I feel sorry for those who have only seen the green-band.
Lord knows what to expect from the final film. Parts look like it could deliver a hilarious, gory, action-filled romp… while other parts feel like it could completely miss and go beyond acceptance in the cheesy departments.
A twisted, funny, high-octane adventure, director Matthew Vaughn brings Kick-Ass to the big screen.
Kick-Ass tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name — Kick-Ass — assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers.
Kick-Ass is released on cinema screens April 8 2010
