GET HIM TO THE GREEK red band trailer has swear words and dildos

I didn’t mind the first trailer for Get Him to the Greek, another one of those vogue comedies from the same breed as Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Superbad. I wrote that the trailer caught me in the right mood and I was convinced it might be a good watch, despite the carbon copy nature of the trailer in question. My feelings remain the same after the release of this red band trailer. It’s more of the same, but ruder and with swear words and dildos. I didn’t mind it at all.

Get Him To The Greek seems like it might be one of those films that works if you see it in the right mood, or with the right group of people. Hating on it from the get-go just because one doesn’t admire the comedy styling of Jonah Hill or Russell Brand is hardly giving the film a chance. People tend to miss out on many good things doing that.

Right now, I’d like to see this.  Looks like harmless, juvenile fun which could work if watched under the right circumstances. When it comes to actually laying money on the counter to gain admittance, things may change. At the very least, this trailer made me chuckle and that’s more than a lot of ‘comedy’ trailers do these days.  I challenge you to not even crack a smile at the line “I woke up with glitter on my dick.” Although, maybe you won’t, because I’ve spoiled it…

Get Him To The Greek opens June 4 2010 in the States, no dates for the Australia or the UK have been announced yet. Perhaps if it bombs we’ll get it straight-to-DVD or something?
