Your chance to walk out after the first 5 minutes of GET HIM TO THE GREEK

Jun 03

As Robin recently discussed in his ‘You will enjoy it’ article, it can be hard to walk out on a film. You’ve paid all that money, devoted so much time to parking and spent-up at the candy bar that we often will ourselves to sit through mindless garbage. Now here’s a chance for you to watch the first five minutes of the new comedy Get Him To The Greek starring Russell Brand and Jonah Hill, and if you don’t like what you see, you don’t need to go.

The ‘first five minutes’ is really another way of saying ‘Russell’s character set-up’ and, judging by the way it ends, we’re supposed to be super-keen to see what further antics his wild rock character (Aldous Snow from Forgetting Sarah Marshall) will get up to for the rest of the film. As I predicted when the trailer was released, this looks like offensive, mindless comedy in the exact same style as Knocked-Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Superbad.

Look for some pretty neat cameos in this clip. Even P!nk gets in on the act. (Is that how I’m supposed to write her name?)

Get Him To The Greek hits Australian screens 17 June, 2010.

Aaron Greenberg (Hill) gets things done. The ambitious 23-year-old has exaggerated his way into a dream job just in time for a career-making assignment. His mission: Fly to London and escort a rock god to L.A.s Greek Theatre for the first-stop on a $100-million tour. His warning: Turn your back on him at your own peril. British rocker Aldous Snow (Brand) is both a brilliant musician and walking sex. Weary of yes men and piles of money, the former front man is searching for the meaning of life. But that doesnt mean he cant have a few orgies while he finds it. When he learns his true love is in California, Aldous makes it his quest to win her backright before kick-starting his world domination.
As the countdown to the concert begins, one intern must navigate a minefield of London drug smuggles, New York City brawls and Vegas lap dances to deliver his charge safe and, sort of, sound. He may have to coax, lie to, enable and party with Aldous, but Aaron will get him to the Greek.
