GULLIVER’S TRAVELS trailer, starring Jack Black as Jack Black

Jun 04

If you’ve seen anything with Jack Black in it — anything at all, from School Of Rock to Tenacious D to, like, Music And Lyrics or something — you’ve already seen Gulliver’s Travels. Just throw in Billy Connolly, Emily Blunt, Jason Segel, Amanda Peet, TJ Miller, some piss-poor digital compositing, a big ol’ 3D logo, and some unnecessary riffs on Star Wars, and you’ve got yourself one of the dumbest-looking movies of 2010.

In a contemporary re–imagining of the classic tale, Jack Black stars as Gulliver, a big–talking mailroom clerk who, after he’s mistakenly assigned a travel piece on the Bermuda Triangle, suddenly finds himself a giant among men when he washes ashore on the hidden island of Lilliput, home to a population of very tiny people. At first enslaved by the diminutive and industrious Liliputians, and later declared their hero, Gulliver comes to learn that it’s how big you are on the inside that counts.

In case you missed it, here’s the “I’m dead and toothless” poster from a couple of weeks ago:
