Hi-ho! New MUPPETS movie in the works
Jun 09
I’ve lived my entire life taking Kermit the Frog for granted. The voice, the greenness, that weird collar and those creepy eyes have always seemed normal. Now though, after many years separated from the Muppet phenomenon, the whole thing seems really freaking strange. Especially Kermit. Not quite a mop, not quite a puppet.
Anyway, a new Muppet movie has been given a release date (despite not yet being greenlit): Christmas 2011 (that’s the 25th of December, in case you forgot). Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller (who wrote Forgetting Sarah Marshall) are writing; Segel is starring (as a human); and Flight Of The Conchords director James Bobin is taking the helm. Those people don’t exactly scream zany, family-friendly fun, do they?
For those who’ve been waiting impatiently for a 21st century Muppet movie, start flailing your arms and warbling “Yaaaay!” Your time is nigh.

The Muppets Christmas Carol was one of the best christmas films i saw when i was a kid. But i find that the franchise has aged quite a bit, dont think it would get me back to the cinemas like Toy Story 3 is.
