What the hell did I just watch? First teaser for RANGO, starring Johnny Depp

I’d seen the title Rango dropped around a few film news sites over the past year; for some reason I always thought it was a live-action movie about a cowboy, with Johnny Depp in it. Then I watched this new teaser trailer for the flick, and to my shock it’s actually an animated movie about a chameleon (Depp) undergoing a crisis of identity. Gore Verbinski (Pirates Of The Caribbean) is directing, with a shopping list of big-name voice actors on board, including: Isla Fisher, Abigail Breslin, Alfred Molina, Bill Nighy, Harry Dean Stanton, Ray Winstone, and Timothy Olyphant.

I’m not big on animation to begin with, and the plot doesn’t really sell me either; the teaser is … well, you can call the teaser ‘enigmatic’ if you want, but I’d sooner call it ‘pointless.’ Watch it, if you like, but don’t come complaining to me afterwards that you want the last 53 seconds of your life back.
