NEVER LET ME GO trailer with Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan is as heavy as a brick

Things labelled “speculative fiction” are usually just science fiction written by award-winning authors, and as such Never Let Me Go is one of the best sci-fi trailers I’ve seen all year (but I’m sure the film’s marketing division would have kittens if they caught me saying that). The lush and arty photography, the calibre of the actors, the casual mention of Time’s BEST BOOK OF THE DECADE award … Never Let Me Go has a lot going for it.

The first thing I thought of as I watched this trailer was A Clockwork Orange. Then 1984. Then Logan’s Run, for some reason. Not once did I think of The Island. Until just now. And I wish I hadn’t. Never Let Me Go seems to fit into a similar creepy-science-ruining-our-lives kind of vibe, with an extra side order of heavy emotion, and these things all bode well for the flick.

Never Let Me Go doesn’t have an official release date yet.

Its a Matilda mixed in with the Village and a splash of sci fi, got me intrigued. whats the donations? Hoping they focus more on the “speculation” and their adaption to the real world than the romance seen.

Did it say when it was set? Because i was wandering why they were scanning their hands outside of the school. At first i thought it was the school keeping track of them but then maybe its the government because they scan themselves in outside of the school.

  2. You know sometimes governments are involved with schools so it's probably both. I dunno it looks more focused on the people side than the sci-fi side. Which is fine, because the best sci-fi should have something to say about us.
