Based on a true story that took 18 years to resolve, Conviction is a movie about Sam Rockwell (who may or may not have committed murder one) going to jail and growing a beard. Hilary Swank takes it upon herself to learn how to lawyer, just so she can get him out. But some doubt is cast on his innocence, which makes the whole thing smell a bit fishy. Plus the trailer is more manipulative than a spoiled brat on his seventh birthday. I’m just glad Hilary Swank’s past her The Reaping / Amelia phase.
Expect a wide release for Conviction some time in 2011.
