Who would you cast in the role of “a small-town girl with a big voice who escapes hardship and an uncertain future to follow her dreams to Los Angeles”…? An actor who can hardly sing, or a singer who can hardly act? We’ll know sooner enough when Christina (or is that Xtina?) Aguilera makes her feature film debut in Burlesque, starring alongside Cher and directed by Steve Antin.

I’m actually curious to see a trailer for this so I can gauge how well it turned out. In the mean time, these new photos of the production have been released.

Burlesque finished filming in March and the movie releases 26 December 2010 in Australia, 24 November in the States.
