New GET LOW trailer proves Bill Murray has still got it
Jul 06
The first trailer for Aaron Schneider’s Get Low had me convinced already. This new feature trailer (and the new poster, below) has cemented my desire to see this film as soon as possible. Alas, there are still no Australian dates announced. Something tells me I’ll be seeing this at the local independent cinema instead of the megaplex– and that’s just fine by me!
I’ve always enjoyed Bill Murray, from Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day, through to Lost In Translation and Zombieland. In my book, he’s always had ‘it’ and never lost it. He’s always been sharp with the delivery of his comedic timing. Enough to make me laugh, anyway. And Robert Duvall… hell, it’s Robert fucking Duvall! I’m wishing I could watch this tomorrow.
Lucky bastards in the United States get to watch Get Low on 30 July 2010.
Get Low is a magical and moving blend of folk tale, fable and real-life legend. Spun in the Southern storytelling tradition, it is about the mysterious 1930s Tennessee hermit who famously threw his own rollicking funeral party . . . while he was still alive.
