No, not that comedy starring Adam Sandler that actually made people cry at the end for emotional reasons– not just from the pain of sitting through an Adam Sandler movie…
CL!CK is a wonderfully crafted short film using stop animation, live actors and LEGO blocks to create what turns out to be a wonderful promotion for LEGO. The masterful thing being that I didn’t care I was being sold LEGO...

First popularised in the titles for Alfred Hitchcock‘s North By Northwest, and recently revived thanks to the digital revolution, the recent trend of kinetic typography is starting to wear thin on me.
The Lionsgate marketing team behind Rodrigo Cortes‘s Buried starring Ryan Reynolds have used the now-saturated technique for the film’s new theatrical trailer to undesired effect. Instead of...

Two of my favorite actors in Robert De Niro and Edward Norton come together again in dramatic-thriller roles (the last time being Fran Oz‘s highly underrated The Score), and Milla Jovovich playing a seductive temptress keen to get her husband out of jail any way she can?
Sign me up.
Directed by John Curran, Stone will only be released on limited screens in the States from 8 October 2010, but we’re...

Two names I never expected to see side-by-side headlining a dramatic thriller are Sam Worthington and Helen Mirren– yet, here they are, up front and centre alongside Jessica Chastain in a brand new trailer for John Madden’s The Debt.
Interestingly, the first draft of the screenplay for The Debt was written by Kick-Ass writer/director Matthew Vaughn. No silly masks or witty one-liners in this one,...

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson sports some impressive tattoos, ink that no suburban white Australian could ever pull off. Thankfully the tattoo displayed in this teaser-poster for his upcoming action film Faster is ‘Shopped, otherwise it would be extraordinarily lame. Ten bucks says he rocks up to the premiere with a temp of it on his arm, though.
Dwayne Johnson’s return to action films was...

Did you see the trailer released last week for David Fincher’s upcoming facebook movie The Social Network? Well this is the same trailer, only it’s not safe for kiddies or people offended by the f-word, because it doesn’t bother avoiding them carefully or anything. Bleeep!
The Social Network stars Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake and Andrew Garfield and is being released in the States...

A movie about two grown geeks from Brittan who take a trip from Comic-Con to Roswell and meet an alien named Paul? Ummm, I dunno. Sounds ‘meh’.. not unless, like, the Brit lead guys were Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Haha.
Oh! THEY ARE? …I’m in!
Here are some images of very geeky-looking Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in the lead roles of Paul, directed by Gregg Mottola in his follow-up to...

After seeing Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in trailers for so many family-friendly kids Disney films lately (I never actually watched any of those…) seeing him in a trailer for a new, violent action film is remarkably refreshing. I like it better when Dwayne has a gun in his hands and throws menacing looks off-frame. The man was built for action movies and if he stuck to his guns (pun intended)...

Call Sheet: A weekly run-down of movie casting news and rumours from around the web.
X-Men: First Class continues to throw names all over the place with regards to casting, but only now do I recognize one of the stars: Kevin Bacon. Variety reports Bacon will play a lead villain while 20th Century Fox have also signed Jennifer Lawrence to play Mystique. The director of Kick-Ass, Matthew Vaughn, is behind this...
