Brand new PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES trailer ups the ante
Mar 21Disney would like to make you well aware that their upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean sequel On Stranger Tides is full of action set-pieces, riveting music and good-looking people in pirate costumes frothing forward witty one-liners at every turn. Therefore, they put together this handy second trailer to illustrate all of these things in 140 blistering seconds. Enjoy.
I really don’t want to be, but I am genuinely impressed.

Johnny Depp does something, everyone pays attention: PIRATES 4 set pics

That’s right, Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is filming right now. Well maybe not right now; today’s a Saturday. Depends on their schedule — do they do 6-day weeks at Disney or do they shoot Monday – Friday? Who knows.
Anyway, check out these photos of Johnny Depp chillin’ with some dudes on a log, and asking whether he’s allowed to go pee in the ocean, respectively:

Yep, looks like they’re hard at work bringing you the next installment in one of the biggest film franchises of all time. Also, where can I get one of those boom-stands? It looks outrageously convenient.
Pirates 4 (or, if you accidentally hold shift, Pirates $) is due in May 2011, and will be in 3D, etc.
Like, OMG, the RANGO trailer actually made me laugh
Jul 01
I had no idea what to expect. The only clues I had were that Rango was an animated film starring a silly-looking green lizard voiced by Johnny Depp. I mean, what else is there to know?
It is also voiced by Australia’s own Isla Fischer along with Bill Nighy, and directed by Gore Verbinski, the same man who brought us those Pirates of the Caribbean films– hey, they starred Johnny Depp, too!! … and Bill Nighy.
Anyhow. I was pleasantly surprised that the Rango trailer actually had me chuckle in a few spots. I was expecting to give it more of a pasting, but it seems too harmless at this point. The lizard has that “ZOMG he’s sooooo cute’ thing going on, which pre-teen girls will scoop up without question, and Johnny’s quirky-as-always voice is there for those who get excited hearing it because they know it’s attached to an (apparently) sexy man. Thankfully it’s an animation, because I doubt he could have pulled off the lizard-in-a-Hawaiian-shirt thing. It would have probably ended up a blend of Willy Wonka and/or Edward Scissorhands and/or Jack Sparrow and/or Sweeny Todd characters… again.
Rango is released 4 March 2011 in the US, 7 April 2011 in Australia
